Ultrasonic Cap

This project was completed whilst studying Robotics at Griffith University.
This product was designed to aid the blind by attaching ultrasonic depth sensors tot he users hat in four directions.
When an object is detected the user hears a tone from the relative direction and the tong gains in volume as the object approaches.
This project also contained a webcam which was connected to AWS Recognition Amazons image recognition service.
This provided the user with a way to easily identify objects without needing to touch them.
This project used GPIO, I2C, LCD, Fritzing, AWS Recognition, Raspberry Pi, Python 3, USB webcam, Custom PCB design, Stereo Audio, PyGame.
